Tikhomirova
works in oil technique and watercolour. She prefers the following
genres: still life, landscape and portrait. Her style is that of impressionistic
realism. Having been trained in classical tradition, the painter draws
inspiration from the perfection of nature. She believes that increasing
the amount of beauty in the world should be the main target of any artist.
In her own words:"A painting,
hanging on the wall in your home, should bring you delight, tune you to
the finer feelings, tease your imagination. When I come across a well-painted
picture, carefully matched colours, wittily balanced composition, true
visual feast, it gives me almost physical pleasure. That's how I try to
paint myself."
